Léa Grenet, recorders traverso and administration
Recorder player, traverso player and teacher, Léa Grenet began playing the piano at the age of 14 before embarking on early music repertoire. After studying musicology at university she was accepted onto Sébastien Marq’s recorder course at the CRR in Paris.
Her passion for teaching and desire to explore recorder repertoire motivated her to obtain diplomas in performance and teaching under the teaching of Françoise Defours. Always on the hunt for something new, she continued her studies at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels and obtained a master’s degree in recorder under Nathalie Houtman and Frédéric de Roos and a specialized master's degree in ornamentation in Corelli's Op. 5.
Her performance career began in the ensembles Clic&Tactus and Camera Delle Lacrime. These ensembles inspired Léa to create Les Passagères in 2015, and she is now also the administrative director of the ensemble.
Léa’s fascination with alternative uses of sound and interest in trio ensembles as a product of the intensive practices of the renaissance consort led her to create “Cactus, un ensemble qui pousse”. Originating in Belgium, the project involved a trio of musicians equipped with about fifteen recorders and was toured across Belgium and France.
In parallel to her performance career, Léa teaches at the Fontainebleau (77), Bry-sur-Marne (94) and Stains (93) conservatories.
