Les Passagères, ensemble baroque

Born from the meeting of two singers and a recorder player, the baroque ensemble Les Passagères was formed in Paris in 2015. Gamba, harpsichord and theorbo were soon invited to join the voyage.

Each of their programmes is a call to discover the musical specificities of different countries, in the 17th and 18th centuries. Les Passagères thus wish to highlight the evolution over time of a repertoire, in its continuities and ruptures. With its choice of intimate chamber repertoire in different instrumentations, this collection offers a varied palette of atmospheres and sound colours, completed by several of their own arrangements.

Their first album "Le Petit Tour" (release on June 30, 2018) includes the whole group. This disk, in reference to the Grand Tour in vogue amongst the well-born youth of 17th and 18th century Europe, is a combination of their first two programs: “Voyage en Italie” (italian music, 2016) and “Tourbillon” (french music, 2017).

Designed as moments of sharing accessible to all, their mission is to bring to life the variety of colours, richness and finesse of baroque music.

Always eager to establish a link with the public, however heterogeneous it may be, they present at each concert the pieces and their instruments. Les Passagères have to their credit three summer tours in Lozère where they were invited to the” Festival d'opéra du Grand Sud” at the Roquedols castel. In 2018, they renew the adventure with a programme of English music and are also be invited to the “festival Marin Marais” in Paris.

Les Passagères are pleased to offer workshops for schools (commented concerts, instrument presentations in Paris and Nanterre), also wish to play in hospitals and prisons, to offer the patients and prisoners moments of respite and openness to the outside.
